Troop 83 serves the Plainfield, Illinois and surrounding area. We are a new troop and were chartered on 5/13/2003. We are sponsored by St. John Lutheran Church of Joliet.

Intertroop Competition 5/30, 5/31/ 6/1
It's back! Troop competition between Troops 13, 19, 82 and 83. Well, we have 1 more year behind our belts. . . how will we do this year. Each year as our troop grows older we do a little better. Will we make 3rd or possibly 2nd.... we have to work hard but WE CAN DO IT!

Summer Camp - Rainbow Council - 7/6 thru 7/12
Summer camp is fact approaching. Remember to sell that 'candy'. All the profits go back to you to help pay for summer camp with the troop, or extra weeks at 'brown sea'. ONGOING TROOP RECYCLING

Troop 83 has an ongoing recycling program. There is no selling involved and its a great way to raise money for troop equipment. We would like all our Scouts and parents to save aluminum cans. Crush them (rinse first if you can), put them in a bag and bring them with you to the next troop meeting. One of the leaders will collect them and "turn them into money".

Candy Bar Fundraier for Summer Camp

Remember to sell those candy bars. You sell the 52 candy bars for $1 each. you pay $26 for the candy and get to put $26 in your scout account. You can use this money for summer camp or scouting equipment. The candy fundraiser will end on 5/31. Sign up candy bar sales on 5/3 at the Jewel in Minooka from 9-1pm and on 5/17 at the Walmart on Jefferson from 9-3pm
