Pack your gear and especially your hiking boots! We will once again camp at Davis Creek in the Kankakee State Park.Several prehistoric sites are documented within Kankakee River State Park. The park is within a region used by Illini and Miami Indians at the time of the first European contact in the 1670s and 1680s. Potawatomi Indians hunted along the Kankakee River in the 1760s. Fees ($20) are due on Tuesday, April 17th.
Stomp into Baraboo, Wisconsin on the weekend of May 18, 19 & 20, 2012, for the 26th Baraboo Circus Heritage at theSauk County Fairgrounds. There’s so much happening at BCH. Make new friends playing the Circus Spirit Game. Show off your fine craftsmanship by entering the Pinewood Derby or Miniature Circus Wagon Competition. Show our troop's teamwork at the Roustabout Roundup Skills Competition. Make a taste sensation at the Dutch Oven Dessert Bake Off. Discover everything at the Sideshow and Scouting Museum. Troop 83 has an ongoing recycling program. There is no selling involved and its a great way to raise money for troop equipment. We would like all our Scouts and parents to save aluminum cans. Crush them (rinse first if you can), put them in a bag and bring them with you to the next troop meeting. One of the leaders will collect them and "turn them into money".
